Hey LeRoy,

From one student to another, caffeine is fine as a pick-me-up every now and then, and sometimes it can almost seem necessary when you're trying to keep up with school, keep up a satisfying social life and deal with everything in between--trust me I know! Caffeine can provide you a certain level of alertness but be aware that the stimulation (in many cases overstimulation) caused by caffeine tends to interfere with normal memory function. Caffeine can also have a negative impact on the sleep necessary to consolidate memories.

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't rely on caffeine to get you through your classes. Stay physically active, exercise your mind (e.g. reading), and get those hours of sleep in!
