Yes, it's hurting my pocket book, but so are all the other costs of living in California too.
Rent, gas, schools, groceries, etc..

And regards to what you were saying, I drive a big truck, a 2007 FORD F150 AND I dont drive it to "look cool".

I drive my truck for the simple reason that if you and I get into an accident,
I'm going to drive over you and smash the sh!t out of your car with my under carriage and your car will take most of the impact. It's a safety thing for me. And no, I am not up high enough to tip over with ease, but I am plenty above the bumper line of most cars and alot of SUV's.

Who's going to win, if a rhino is running full steam into a dear? Hahaha, no contest my friend.
So for that, tis a pleasure to pay more at the pump and be over your bumper line.

Small car = Good on Gas = Bad in car accident

Big Truck = Bad on gas = Much safer in event of accident (and apparently I look cooler LOL)

ON a side note, I want to change my engine to a diesel engine and run it off cooking oil, thats some great stuff right there and perhaps a wave of the future???
