I've had the exact same thing in my left shoulder, except I did it benching. Struggling on a rep, and I moved a weird way and it did the pop/loss of strength/pain thing. Not sure what it was, it hurt for months to bench, curl, whatever. I recommend going to see a sports doctor, not your ENT family guy. They will want to xray it....forget that and insist on an MRI. Even then nothing may show up, I didn't show anything that they could see, but I knew something was amiss. Take some time off to see how it reacts, don't sleep on it, things like that.
