That is a different arguement than you began with. I agree that tolerance is something to strive for, but you were initially showing no remorse for people of other beliefs based upon the erroneous conclusion that our country is a christian monument. Of the ~250 founding fathers, there were 12 denominations present, 5 of which quickly evolved into religions INDEPENDANT of christianity.
You argumentative logic if wholly flawed. You're stating that if its historically present in our American culture, than it should be allowed to persist and other people who don't agree can simply work around it. By that logic, slavery should still be legal and the people who don't like it should secede... oh wait...
