Yea, I grew up on the bible belt. Being in South Carolina where the "Holy City" is located has always been pretty comical for me.
My friends are all very cavalier about it. They joke and make jabs all of which I do find funny. There have been several experiences in my life where I have been "condemned" by people I've met that found out about my beliefs.
Unfortunately, my girlfriend of nearly 6 years broke up with me a little over a year ago due to it. She knew I was agnostic going into the relationship but I think she figured I would grow out of it or something. We started talking about marriage and kids and she promptly bailed.
My current girlfriend shares my beliefs, though from a different philosophical standpoint, and we have tons of great conversations about everything.
As far as my family goes, they've adopted the 'dont ask, dont tell.'
