Anyway, I grew up in a town called Traralgon (pop 34,000ish) about two hours S/E of Melb'. Did a lot of engineering and metal work classes at school. Wanted to specialize in underwater welding. Finished school and tried to get an apprenticeship a couple of times but was unsuccessful(sp?). In a town like that it's who you know, not what you know. So after a stint at Safeway (supermarket) and then being on the dole, a friend finally convinced me to move to the big smoke(jk). I was 18y. So I went back with him one day and said i'd stay for a few weeks. Rang dad that arvo and told him the deal. He was cool. I hated it at first, to noisy and to busy, not as friendly as my home town but I got used to it.
After countless c.v's being dropped off for two weeks, I finally got a call from the head chef of an Italian resturaunt who needed a kitchen hand. Went there next morning to suss it out and had lunch with him. His name was Enzo Lo Terzo. 26y and a big Cicilian guy. We got along well and I started the next week. (Hey another week of bludging was'nt going to hurt anyone!)
I worked from 9am to 3pm, Mon to Fri. He finised the same time as me and went to a gyw two minutes up the road, so I started going with him. I enjoyed it so much and became hooked. Plus he was one of "the big guys" so he introduced me to all the other "big guys". I felt invincible walking into that gym ! Felt so protected. He took me as a little brother because I did'nt know anyone in Melb except Marc, my mate I move in with. I owe all my strenght and confidence to Enz, Marc, and the gym guys.
I was 68kg at that stage and in a few months reached 72kg. Changed jobs to a bike mechanic and slowed the training. Platued at 72 for a while.
Joined the team in the kithen again after a year or so, this time as a cook. Started training again and after another stint at the gym, reached 78kg.
Left the resturaunt again for the bikes and stayed ay 78kg untll last year.
With some training here and there I hit 80kg and have been since.
Two months ago I came across this site and now I am more dedicated than ever. I've started some supp's i'd never heard of and am stronger than ever and feeling heaps better. It's on now !
This site has truely inpired me to do my best and has tought me more in a couple of momths than I had learnt in 4-5 years.
I apologise for the long story but it felt good to get it out . Good luck to everyone with their goal and all the best for the new year ! Peace
