need workout advice

ok i started hitting the gym again about 2 months ago (i weighed about 142) and this time i was consistent for the first time (i was so proud lol)...after two months or so i found this website and thought i get some help from you guys...i think the thing i did wrong was over training ....i hit the gym like 6 days a week mainly upper body and rested for only a day....along with my workout plan i took cyto gainer (one scoup w/milk 3 times a day)....anyways now 2 months later i am at 157 with not too much result but i gained lots of weight but am not seeing too much muscles....any suggestions on what i should do or what am i doing wrong??
