It increases cortisol secretion. Cortisol is a natural hormone of the adrenal glands.
It basically in a nutshell will break down protein in muscles and connective tissue and turn them into glucose and glycogen - other wise known as
CATABOLISM (the body eating it's own muscle for fuel) .
It's the opposite effect of the body creating muscle (ANABOLISM)
So one must try to keep themself as stress free as possible
