c'mon gang, take some time and tell us about you.

My name is Ernie (background...Hi Ernie...)

I am 27, married with two kids, a girl (4), and a boy (1.4). They are cool. Nothing like the kids man. Anyway. I am a military brat, father was in navy 20 yrs so we been allover. My living situations have included the following areas...in order. Texas, Mississippi, California, South Carolina, Florida, Italy, England, and then finally here in Virginia. I would love to go back to italy...had a great time there. I have always been a bigger person...not always fat, but thick...In first year of H.S. was chubby, started football and following year was great shape...went on for the rest of H.S. good shape...wrestled senior year. Got outts school, partied a bit...ended up here in virginia...took Taekwando for 2 yrs...still in good shape...met my wife...dated, married......got a desk job at Gateway (tech support) and two years later I was fat! 235 lbs. got fired for bieng a dumbass...wife pregnant, didn't know what to do, joined Marines. Wanted to go into the Air Force but they would not take me, too fat. Told me to lose weight and come back. Went accross the hall to the Marines...they took me to the gym...and said "we'll fix you". Took several of thier tests, they found out I was smart and wondered why I wanted in...and I told them cause you guys were willing to help me lose the fat, not just tell me to go away and come back when skinny (plus I needed benefits for new family) . So, i signed up as with data/systems as my MOS, only persn I met in the corps with that as MOS..not many computer programmers join the Marines...got in at guaranteed Lance Corporal E-3 due to the test scoring...and it looked like I had it made. Low and behold, I learned something...don't force yourself to run 3 miles a day when you are overweight...I was running like that before i went into corps...for a month...had some bad shin splints...but rested thema bit, figured they'd go away....WRONG. So once I get to the island and am in midst of boot camp....i am limpin like a mutha...cant walk hardly, much less run...gettin my ass chewed all up and down for bieng a fat slob....and finally one day the drill instructor came up to me and said "Parrow....why the hell are you limping all the damn time"...my reply was"sir, this rectruit has no idea...sir" he then ordered me to go to sick bay...I did , they x-rayed...great, good job dumbass, now I had four cracks in my shins...two on each shin...called Bi-Lateral Tibial Stress Fractures. Sent me back on crutches and I was dropped to MRP...while we though it meant Mentally Retarded Platton, it really stood for Medical Rehabilitation Platoon. And there I sat waiting for my damn legs to heal. never did get quite right again, to this day they still bother me when its cold or when i put alot of stress on them...that's why I don't run. Anyway, they discharged me, gave me and ELS...Kinda like a "do-over" basically said go home and get better and come back in six months. So there went that. The good thing was that when your hurt...all i could do was workout....no exaggeratiing, 1000 crunches a day, 500 pushups a day...I came home a lean...cut mutha fuka...weighed 180 , dunno about body fat, but there wasn't much. I lost 55 lbs. in the corse of 4 1/2 months there with the Marines. I will never forget the lessons learned there, and the quality of life imparted on me in my short stay with them. OOhhhhh Rahhhhh. So i got home, farted around a while...got a job here and there, finally ended up here....said to myself, F computers, don't care about them anymore....got into the moving industry....as a salesman....moved up ranks, now I run the place. Next 6 months or so , I will be General Manager of my own Terminal...and finally be comfy...LOL. Thats my life in a bottle. Hope ya didn't get bored too much. I'll put some family pics up here in a bit....
