i was watching tv one time, and a doctor was saying that a warm glass of milk doesn't scientifically do anything. its a placebo effect, because it reminds them of what there mother used to do, thus it brings them back into that state of mind. nothing wrong with a placebo as long as it doesn't cost an arm and leg ;P.
as for the addictiveness, i don't know anything about these substances. but u can fall addictive to anything, some are just more prone. some things are a physical addiction like nicotine. and some are more psychological, like bulima/eating disorders.
on a different forum, i was reading ppls reviews on a GH Biogel roller. u roll the stuff on ur forewarms and go to bed. supposed to be real good, and tones of ppl were swearing buy it. they said when they woke up, they never felt grogging, but were even waking up 20mins before they had to cause they had such a good deep sleep.
