Allowing the bar to return to the platform without maintaining control with both hands - what platform??
i dont bench press, but for me this is a:
squat - place the bar on your traps/shoulders, squat down till your past par, then squat back up to the top
deadlift - grab the bar an pull it up off the floor till your body is fully upright
