As a formerly obese person, I can certainly sympathize. However, I have no respect for anyone that thinks "equality" means having the government make laws regarding "obese" accessibility standards for private businesses. Certainly anyone that is obese is a person and has the same rights to life, liberty, and property as anyone else, but they have no right to special treatment. Further, I can't respect anyone with a "victim" mentality that doesn't accept the personal responsibility inherent in being obese (aside from actual physical defects beyond their control i.e. thyroid malfunction). I, personally, became obese because my parents didn't teach me proper diet and portioning habits as a child and adolescent. When I became old enough to make those decisions for myself, I had to research and learn to eat properly. I was no more "addicted" to poor dieting than anyone else. I just decided that being healthy was more important than the neurochemical high I got from gorging on crap.
