Blaming it on genetics is a cop out. Obviously you haven't been eating or training perfectly, if not becuase you would be growing, but because it takes years to figure out what diet and training work for you.
Train for a decade or so, make barely any gains, try every kind of training and diet out there, and THEN you can start to talk about genetics.
