A 17" - 17 1/2" neck is
XL. A 16-16 1/2" is L. I can wear a 17 1/2 as long as I don't button the collar. I had a shirt semi-custom made at Men's Wearhouse. The sales manager made me take an 18 1/2 neck (33 sleeve). I argued with him (friendly becasue I spent a lot there), but dammit, he was right. Best fitting shirt I've got.
Right now I wear size 40 pants, but I'm working on losing my gut. Even then I'll still need the 40s, and have the waist taken in. My thighs are 27" and I have a squatter's butt.
Oh, and all this at 5'5". Tell me it's not hard to find clothes.
