One of the supermarkets (foodmarts) over here ran a singles thing every Thursday night. All you had to do was have some bananas in the top of your trolley. If they were facing up it meant you were a single & were on the lookout.
If you happened to be in there on a Thursday just to do the shopping (not scoping for chicks) & needed bananas, you'd just make sure they were hidden in the trolley or facing down.
That was years ago now - we used to go around dumping bananas in senior citizens trolleys for giggle.
Maybe you should drop a little note in the suggestion box next time you're getting some food.
