Actually i just was in the food forum and thought maybe it would be interesting to post up my "on season grocery list". This will give you an idea of what to expect. Again, no two people have the exact same methods. The foods on my list are generally accepted as the "staples" of on-season dieting.
Protein:
-chicken breast
-tuna
-egg whites
-why isolate
carbs:
-oatmeal
-brown rice
-sweet potato
-maltodextrin/dextrose for post workout only
Fat:
-cold oil blend of omega 3-6-9 (like "udo's oil" type thing).
Veggies:
-broccoli
-asparagus
-mushrooms
-onions
-spinach
-cauliflower
(there are more, but those are the ones that i eat most of the time)
Fuit:
none
dairy:
none
condiments:
-sugar-free salsa
-frank's hot sauce
-splenda (sometimes i'll put a packet in my coffee)
-spices
I drink crystal light, and the occaisional diet pop. Tons of water of course, and since i am a caffeine junkie, i do drink coffee (black, of course, or with splenda).
Cheat days:
OKay LOL you have as many philosophies on cheat days as you do ab-training LMAO. Maybe people will have one cheat day a week, or one cheat meal a week. Some people will cut them out when they get closer to the show, some will have then right up until the show. This is the first year that i'm working with my new diet-guru, and i have NO cheats whatsoever. Yup. 4 months of no ice cream or cookies LOL. I am already making a list of crap that i want to eat the moment i'm off the stage....
-nibs
-costco cookies (mmmMMMMMmm!!!)
-nachos
-dairy queen
-peanut butter on banana
-anything chocolate
-chinese sesame seed balls
-tempura
-burger, fries and a shake
(okay i could spend all day typing this list...)...
