What would be a good foundation for a good breakfast.

I never used to be a breakfast eater either. Breakfast for me was a glass of iced tea and a piece of toast for a lot of years. LOL But I learned that I wasn't doing my body any good.
As for a good breakfast...it could be anything... an omelett with fresh veggies, scrambled eggs, some oatmeal (if she likes it), a home-made egg mcmuffin (english muffin, egg, 1 slice of cheese), even cereal (like Basic 4 or Heart Smart). One of my favorite breakfasts is an omelett with fresh green peppers, some softened onions (heated in the microwave till they're soft and opaque), broccoli and some cheese, plus a slice of dry toast and sometimes a banana or an apple. Ok now I'm drooling..lol
I know people will come here and say stay away from the cereal and carbs and yadda yadda yadda, but honestly, they're nothing to be afraid of. The most important thing is moderation and watching the calorie intake. I've been a calorie counter for a long time, and it hasn't failed me yet.
Also, make sure she is drinking lots of water everyday.
