I dont think it works that way. When you work out, you break down your muscles. You build them while you rest, like when youre asleep, which is why rest is so important when you want to gain muscle. You doint build anything while working out, the building comes when youre out of the gym. There are no gains right after you lift, so therefore cardio cannot break down your gains since you have yet to gain anything.
Cardio can break down muscle, if you do too much and/or dont get enough protein to sustain your muscle gaining goals. It will hinder you if youre trying to put on mass, but it shouldnt reduce your muslce if you have the right diet.
