Default Supplements to help speed recovery ?

Hi . I'm 42 . I 'm looking for a supplement that would really help speed my recovery time . I take a performance multi vitamin , and creatine. I've just started drinking a protien dring after work outs to see if that would help. I'm not fat but I do have the problem mid section that most men my age and older do . I must watch my diet so that I don't pack on the stomach /midsection fat , but It seems I need to eat alot to recover and build muscle . Is there anything I can take to assist in recovery ?Thanks.

A supplement should not be the centerpiece of your recovery... Sensible training, nutrition and rest lead to gaining muscle and recovery. Proper nutrient intake and timing will go a long way to toward your goals.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to say what supplements you need or should use without knowing your nutrition and training habits in depth.

I put as much into recovery as I do into training and eating. Check out the last 20 pages of my journal (Chuck Norris) and there should be plenty of tips in there for you.

Here is my recovery "supplement" recipe:

500ml of skim milk
1/2 a cup of rolled oats
1 banana
2 eggs
4 tbsp of skim milk powder
2 tbsp of low-fat, natural yogurt
2 tbsp of LSA Mix (sunflower seeds, linseeds, almonds, etc.)
2 scoops of weight gainer powder
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

I recommend eating that with a decent serving of meat/fish and vegetables. Enjoy.

Thanks ya'll . I fine the Protien drink I started drinking after my work outs is filling in what I've been lacking. I'm not feeling a little run down anymore . In fact my muscles are feeling fuller also . A huge difference in the way I'm feeling . Thanks
