Mitch woke up angry today. LOL.
He is right though - there aren't alot of differences in the various brands past the taste. Some have more additives, etc., but its not something you should be relying too heavily on anyway. Its a supplement - not a staple. |

But in all seriousness, its like asking what brand of chicken works best for you. You'd laugh your ass off if someone made a thread about that, this really isnt any different.

But the last sentence is critical... it's a supplement, make time to eat some food.

I think it is all about how you feel, personally I am Hypoglycemic and want a high level of protien, NO sugar, no Chlesterol, and FOR SURE No Aspartame. Other pluses like high end Creatine and N.O help too.
Some of the cheaper ones are high in all those things I listed I dont want, and after trying a few I can say for sure you feel better with some than with others,, My 12 year old says if you take this are you going to look like the guy on the container,, well,, I dont think any of us are that gulable.. |

I use 2 different types of protein
Right now I use American Whey for PWO, 10 lb. bucket is pretty cheap, lasts me forever... I used to use ON for PWO... either one works IMO I also use syntha6 before bed because it's slow digesting |

I'm using Cytogainer for pre-workout and ON for Post (usually with some fruit juice). They taste good at least and really aren't all that expensive (which matters even more).

Most powders out there are a blend of the various wheys....I know for example that ON is a blend. Do you have to pay top dollar? Not necessarily - the difference in price is generally taste, and a couple more grams of protein per serving. Some of the cheaper ones have a lot of cholesterol (and some of the more expensive ones do as well).
The bottom line is that it's a supplement, you shouldn't be making your head hurt trying to find one you like. Use it to fill gaps when needed or PWO, real food should be the cornerstone of any diet. |
