Default Head Pain

I am 43. I have been lifting for about 5 years. I have had a few pulls here and there in my chest, legs etc.. but nothing bad.

I have been rotating for the last year from lighter more reps to heavey fewer reps. About 3 months ago or so, I was in my heavier routine and noticed on the right upper side of my head a funny very slight "pulling" type of feeling. I may not be describing the feeling correctly but it wasn't really painful at all just a funny feeling.

I noticed it more and more when I would push heavier weight. If I would go lighter I rarely would feel it. Then when I did heavier I noticed if I made sure to breathe real deep and the exhale properly I wouldn't really feel it.

For the past 3 weeks however I have been feeling this and some slight pain. I am not sure what it is.

I have had so many sinus and pressure related issues over the past 3 years that I thought it was that. I always have sinus issues that seem to settle on the right side of my head. About 3 years ago I had pressure, numbness on the right side of my head for about a month so I had a CT scan and MRI even went to a neurologist and everything was normal. They said some sinus issues most likely stress as I do get stressed and have anxiety issues.

My blood pressure however is around 110/70 so it is good.

Anyone ever have anything like this? I attribute it to the lifting because of the way it started.

Thanks,
Scott

Wow, I really have no idea, but you better be safe than sorry.

Since it's been 3 years, maybe have another CT/MRI scan just to make sure, cause anything related to pressure in the brain should be taken very seriously, as I'm sure you have been taking it seriously.

Best of luck, let us know if you find out what is causing it. Are you on meds?

Go get checked out bro, especially if you have insurance.

It could somthing as simple as a basic muscle spasm?
It could be some sinus issues?
It could be some nuerological issues??
It could be precursor to a brain aneurism, very serious???
Ot it could be nothing

Go get it checked, you cant afford not too.

Can't say that I have.....When I was fatter I used to feel much more pressure in my sinus area but now that I'm leaner that's gone.

Are you doing weight that is within your muscle's capacity or are you pushing yourself to lift something you shouldn't?

Wow, this is really strange because I was experiencing the same thing for about a month. I thought I was in some danger of having an anurism (sp?) Dead lifts felt like they were killing me. I went to the doctor and we talked about MRIs and he perscribed a muscle relaxer. I decided to get a massage and guess what.....no more headaches!! It was all muscle tension. I now feel GREAT and my workouts are back on track.

i experience pain during deadlifts also in my head
my sister who is a physical therapist said this injury is one of most common weight lifting injuries.
my guess is a ruptured or bulging disc in neck. pain will also shoot down below the shoulder blades,

good luck bro cause i can only do about half the weight i used to be able to do. sucks big time cause this was my stronger lift.

Never bothered to get a scan done, hunter? Could be something as easy as an appointment to a chiro.
