Are repetitions using isometrics of value?
I have been a believer of isometrics (sometimes called static contraction) exercise for years (I'm 56). I have rock-hard muscles, but I sometimes used to injure myself by going for maximum pushes/pulls without first warming up. Warming up by pushing at about half-strength for 5-10 seconds or so does help. My next question is this - is there any benefit to doing "reps" for each exercise?
