Default strange wrist "injury" ??

I am a 42yo female who does cardio daily and weight training 3 days a week for years. I had just completed a "Body Pump" class with moderate weights and with no trauma, all of a sudden a bluish egg appeared in my left wrist. It went down almost as fast as it came and has progressed as a bruise would over the last 3 days. It is just a greenish-blue bruise now that is still tender to the touch. Has anyone experienced this? Any idea what happened here?

no idea what happened. Do you think you pulled a muscle or sprained a muscle or something. Is it still bruised/swollen now?

This link was about an injection site but the swelling and coloration sound like what you described. Was yours just a bruise? Have you "popped" anything in your wrist recently or banged it into something? Being in my 40's also, I constantly have bruises and swollen places that I have no idea how I got them. Of course I also to Martial Arts and have aches, pains, strains, and sprains all the time! If you are really concerned, by all means seek the advice of a medical professional.

I had a someone suggest that I had popped/torn a blood vessel and that article about the EMG needle sounds just like my symptoms. Thanks! I am not sure how I did it, didn't hear or feel any "Pop". Maybe at 42 my vessels are just getting old!! I hope simple straining didn't cause it because I can't imagine not lifting anymore.

I would definitly have it looked into so as not to aggravate any condition you might have. Get a diagnosis and train accordingly. I suffer from all sorts of little aggravating injuries since I do Taekwondo and work out. I always have some sort of nagging issue when I get to the gym. I just workout smart and take care not to cause any more damage.
