I did three weeks before I noticed a difference at all. It was around week 5 or 6 before I noticed a bit of improvement on my lifts. Are you still on the Tribulus? Are you going to wait it out a little longer. (Just curious.)

Default Why don't gals stay on birth control pills?

OK, this question is going to be asked at my next gyno appt in June. But I'm 49, early menopause runs in my family, but I've been taking a low-estrogen birth control pill for several years (Loestrin, Junel FE). This magic pill is what keeps my body fooled into thinking I'm not into menopause!

It's a 3-week on, 1 week placebo type prescription. During that week off, oh boy do I get hot flashes! Hate 'em! I tried taking Black Cohosh supplements to diminish the hot flashes, but ended up with two common reactions: headaches and weight gain.

My doc wants to wean me off my birth control pills, but I scream, "WHY?" If they keep me feeling comfy, am I endangering my health? How long can a woman take a low estrogen BC pill safely?

Someone told me about Tibolone - website: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100004153.html
which is supposedly a miracle menopause cure. But you have to have stopped all menstruation for a full year before going on it.

Any insights here are most welcome!

Default just received Twin-Lab Tribulus Fuel

I have been wearing myself down the past three months while continuing daily trips to the gym (which I hoped would help fight this). I have tried a wide variety of temporary cures. I stopped by this site to read up because DHEA just made me feel a bit warmer and creatine causes me great pain in my arms, where I have had tennis elbow in both sides. I took the first tribulus about 30 minutes ago and I'll let you know what happens from here. I'm a 45-year-old guy, about mid-build and I still take DHEA once daily along with chromium, saw palmetto, eyebright, ginko biloba, Centrum and a 3-6-9.
Any advice?

Are you still having problems with your arm? If so try using a Glucosamine/Chrondrotin/MSM combination. You take centrum so you may not need to add extra C, but if you can it helps the body to 'use' the glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM more efficiently. The combination of the three helps to repair and strengthen the joints, tendons and ligaments, renew synuvial joint fluid and reduce inflammation. (It takes a couple weeks to feel a difference.)

The rest of your supplements make sense for someone our age. I myself take saw palmetto along with my other herbals.

It's probably going to take a couple weeks before you experience a difference with the tribulus. I was happy with the results and will be using trib again this coming winter.

On other boards some guys recommend 3g/day

Should I cycle it and how ?

start with what is suggested on the bottle. If you get progress with that, why up it. More is not always better.

What are your expectations of taking Trib?

it's an herb that is "suppose" to increase your test levels, mainly for those guys over 35 years old.

Some people do have success with it, and helps them out a little, others, well, didn't do anything. It will help you in the "excitement" area in the morning.. wife or SO might not like the little extra there..hahaha.

It's hard to say if it is really working at all. You are suppose to be eating good, and lifting heavy along with it. So how do you know if it's your routine and diet or the Trib that's helping.

Nothing wrong with trying it. I have used it in the past during PCT and has helped a little... but every little bit counts!

Default might seem slow, but.............

The tribulus i have purchased usually say 1 or 2 tablets a day, which i have done. Had great results, but when my cycle is over, the gained weight drops off. So for months now i have been taking it daily. The result, a seemingly permanent gain of 2kg (4.5lbs) and the bodyfat has not increased either. 2kg in a 45 year old is very good. I know it will take a long time, but i will stick at it and reach 77kg (currently 75)

And i came 3rd in the over 40's catagory in the Victorian championship too!!

Default trib caps

been taking this as a supp for 2 months now just 3 caps a day as recommended on the bottle, and it has worked wonders when taken with zinc, The impact has been that i now gets spots again at 41 and my sex drive has gone through the roof so i know that my test levels have increased as so far so has my energy levels.so i would recommend it to over 40 guys. the young whippersnappers should be hitting hign natural test levels so wont need trib.

I don't think the trib could/would raise it enough to be of concern. However, check with your rump doc and see what he says.

Don't have your family history but I am curious as well. Does anyone have a link to any studies, etc?

Cool

Test. doesn't give you prostate cancer if you don't have it. If it is sleeping in your prostate it will start rapid growth, test or DHT feeds it. Have your PSA checked by your doctor and tell him what you are doing. He will advise and know to continue to check PSA in the future. Not having enough sex causes prostate cancer. You want to keep that thing empty or clean. That's why usually "most" all older men will have it if they live long enough. Most die and never know they had it account it's usually very slow growing.
