I have been weight training for 17 years now. I seriously tried body building for a while and was even contemplating competition until New Zealand's female BB champion told me I'd never place unless I was on the juice
Despite that I am 35 now and have decided to get back into my training with avengence! I used to be a big weights ego trainer early on, but after spraining a disc in my lower back I have a new (more sane) approach to training. My 'tell the grandchildren' acheivements were:
Body weight 70kg --> Squat 160 kg, Bench Press 110 kg
I have tried various supplements and have found that FRAC (sorry I don't know it's full name) and Creatine have worked well for me.
I am very happy that I found this site, and that there is a lot of friendly and clued up advice being given.
