Xfactor has a spectacular aura about

Well, this looks like a good place to start.

Name: Thomas
Age: Nearly a quarter of a century old (24 to be exact...)
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 177
BF: No friggin idea, but WAAAY too high if I took a guess.

Back in high school, I was in pretty good shape. I was playing football, baseball and taking tae kwon do until I broke my right leg my sophomore year. I fell into a bit of a funk then, smoking, drinking, drugs, etc. By my sophomore year in college, i weighed 230 lbs (pure fat) and a steady alcoholic. After a lot of personal problems (my fiance cheating on me, problems at work, my father's health problems) I needed to find something to use as an escape, other than alcohol or the daily joint. So, I joined 24 hr fitness and never looked back. Within one year, I had went from 230 lbs to 160 lbs, quit doing drugs and severly cut back on the drinking. (My only vice is smoking cigarettes; if ANYONE knows a good way to quit, please let me know! Tried the patch, tried the gum, tried HYPNOSIS...)

As stated before, the workouts were just an aversion to the daily grind. (Sure beats the hell outta $300/hr psychotherapy sessions... ) I never really knew much about working out, dieting or supplementation, and thusly hit a plateau about 6-8 months ago. So, I hit the net and found this site. I must say, I've been glancing around for a few days and the info here is GREAT! I've also been reading Men's Health and Fitness lately, and I feel as if I finally have the knowledge to get out of the funk and get to where I wanna be.

So, don't be suprised if i'm on here a lot, just soaking in info and asking stupid questions. Working out has become a major cornerstone in my life, and the feeling is great!

(p.s. The best part of the working out for me? Seeing my ex-fiance...not only did I lose the weight, but it seemed as if she gained all that I lost! )
