Excess cardio can break down your muscle. Look at professional marathon runners; do you want to look like them?
I think it's a myth that women should use light weights and high reps. Google max-ot program (it's free). Read it back to back. That's the program I follow (for the most part).
I lift weights HEAVY and Low reps (4-6 reps per sets) 3 times per week. I play league soccer on weekends... and I can definitely tell that it hinders my muscle gain (by comparing on and off season)... but I enjoy it anyways.
If you enjoy your classes, that's great. Just try to incorprate weight lifting more. Just switching your routine can break out the plateau sometimes.
