Hi, first post...

Name: Dwayne
Height: 6'
Weight: 175
Age 29
Location: Memphis, TN.

Background:
I used to do submission-fighting, judo, jiu-jitsu, and Thai boxing. When I graduated from high school I was only 135 pounds and around 5'8, then I grew like mad for a year. I fought at around 160 pounds/6' for 5 years. But, that was years ago (when i was in shape)...Now I work in computer networking and rarely get off my rear. I've been "in shape" before but never been "large" my whole life. Now, I'm not much of either.

Currently:
Got myself a weider Olympic barbell w/300 pounds worth of weights, a gold's gym xr-18, and some misc weights and dumbbells I've had forever. I got tired of still feeling like I used to (in my head but not physically) when I think I can move this/lift that and ended up hurting myself. After a few times of hurting my neck and/or back and being laid up, I couldn't take it anymore. It's hard still having the mind of a fighter and the body of a computer geek

I started out about 2 months ago with just the Olympic bar doing shoulder/neck/back exercises to get those areas in decent enough shape to start getting serious. I've only just started lifting on a schedule and working out details on how much weight for each exercise.

I came across this site looking for forums such as these to help keep me focused while getting some good advice. Everyone seems really cool and helpful, so I think I'll stick around
