What's the maximum amount of protien you can eat at one time and have it work? I need at least 230 grams a day, and sometimes I can't eat 6 times a day.

I've seen articles where they said 30 grams, but some supplements have as much as 60 grams per serving. Ronnie Coleman takes in 600 grams of protien per day! If he only ate 30 grams at a time, that would be 20 meals.

I'd guess about 90 from food, and 145 from supplements. Lately, I've been missing meals occasionally though

Yeah, this stumps me too.
 
I know I need about 180g's per day and I struggle to get this  
 
It's really hard to get alot of protein from my food, so the supplements play a big part now, but i still wonder about how much can be absorbed at the one time  
I probably get my 180g's but it's def not spread evenly throughout the day. I read somewhere (A training program called Muscle Dynamics) that the body can only take in and process 22g at a time!!!  
Hope that aint true

is that an ad for a designer whey protien? those all have 22g's.  I really don't know a whole lot in this area, but I think there may be some merit to the claim, but I think that the limit is a little higher than that.

Anyone know how many grams of protein in eggs? isn't it like 8g per egg or something? I can't remember.  I'm gonna join a gym again end of oct. finally settling down, and not as busy now... gonna get back to some serious eating. I eat 4 eggs (only 2 yoks) for breakfast plus a bowl of some kinda cereal.  I got bored of eggs, but it just gets used to it hehe...

My protein shakes contain 45g of protein and 3 of these a day helps me to reaching my requriement of 189g.
I try to go for 200g as this gives no room for error for mass building.  
Chicken is good for protein and low fat content, turkey has even less fat but tends to be dry as we all know!  
Beef and lamb are fine but pork is an area i rarely go to, the fat content is way too high for my liking!  
Fish is good protein source and the oils help your joints.

Yes, I'm supplementing with Fish Oil Caps, 3gms a day. It's supposed to be good for your circulation and cholesteral levels. High in Omega-3 Fatty Acids.  
No side effects as of yet.

I think i'm finally startin to get my protein intake up to scratch. boy those bars really are worth the monay, 50 precious grams in each one, 2 of them a day combined with some hearty meals and a protein shake should really ensure i'm gettin my minimum requirements.
 
I been thinkin lately, should I be takin something to help my joints? I'm thinking that i should, any suggestions?

U sure thats rite for an 8oz chicken breast? Only 19g's? Its just i've just eaten a can of tuna and it says for evry 100g of drained tuna, there is 27g of protein. Not sure what 8oz is in g's but its alot more than 100

Tuna is real high in protien, about 35 grams in a can. I reccomend albacore, a little higher in fat but it's healthy fat and tastes waaaay better.

albacore > regular tuna.   I shudder at the thought of it still, I OD'd on tuna this summer... still eat it though, not as much as I ought too.  Albacore actually has slightly more protien too, btw.

read on another website that the most protien you can absorb at one time is dependent upon what kind it is... whey protien can be absorbed, up to like 50-60 gms easy however fatty protien from meat and fish is harder for the body to absorb so it will struggle with 25-30 gms from meat.  apparently the fat in the meat makes it harder to absorb in the small intestine.

your body absorbs abou 30 - 40grams of protein per 3hrs so yeah but really to build muscle you neeed kals with protein hope the you new that already
